GELLER Labs MGTA kits
Build a Micro Gust Thermal Anemometer (U.S. Patent No. 7,380,471*) as described in the February 2006 issue of Nuts & Volts Magazine. Kit of all required parts, even includes the solder! The MGTA is a table top experiment in measuring very small air currents. You need at least a source of +15 VDC (not 12V) rated to about 0.1 A or more (single supply operation) and a multimeter with DC voltage scales.
MGTA PCB: $9.95 An industrial quality PCB for building an MGTA (bare PCB only, no parts).
MGTA Kit: $29.95 A kit of all parts to build the MGTA shown in the article. The kit PARTS LIST includes the MGTA PCB, all resistors and capacitors, and LM399H (still in the shell), and a small muffin fan for calibration experiments. Instructions are found in the February, 2006 issue of Nuts & Volts Magazine. A full page copy of the MGTA schematic diagram is available at no charge as a .jpg file. Also includes mounting hardware.
MGTA: $39.95 Assembled MGTA (includes mounting hardware).
Mounting Hardware, four stainless steel 4-40 hex standoffs and four nuts: $3.95
*We have decided for commercial reasons to allow the '471 patent to expire, rather than pay the renewal fees.
